We get it — cleaning your closet can be a daunting task.
Not only is it a huge job to take on, but it’s hard to part with those sentimental favourites (even if you haven’t worn them in a couple of years).
What if cleaning out your closet could not only de-clutter your living space but give back to your community? Would it be easier for you to get rid of those pieces taking up much-needed space?
The good news is, the Bissell Thrift Shop is looking for clothing donations!
Every item donated is sorted to ensure that our community members have access to free, weather-appropriate clothing. All remaining items are sold — and without these gracious donations, we would not be able to offer many of Bissell Centre’s services.
Now, for some tips + tricks:
Take the time to set yourself up for success — you can do this by scheduling time in your calendar to de-clutter!
Once you’re in the zone, make two piles, Keep and Donate, and start sorting!
Be sure to consider the one-year rule! The reality is, if you haven’t worn something in a year or more, you probably aren’t going to!
Once you are done sorting, organize the keepers! Each space is unique and will require different organizing techniques, so be sure to do what’s best for you.
Ensure your “Donate” pile is laundered, folded, and placed in a plastic bag! Once ready, you can drop it off at the Bissell Thrift Shop — click here for location details.
